Pipe insulation for hot and cold service
Hot lines lose energy and burn people. Cold lines sweat, drip and corrode under the insulation. The fix is different for each: hot service is about thickness and personnel protection; cold and chilled service is about a continuous vapor barrier, because one open seam lets moisture in and the insulation fails from the inside. We insulate steam, condensate, hot water, chilled water, refrigerant and process lines with fiberglass, mineral wool, calcium silicate, elastomeric foam and cellular glass, picked for the temperature and the environment. Outdoors and in washdown areas we finish with aluminum, stainless or PVC jacketing so the insulation survives weather and traffic. California's Energy Code, Section 120.3, sets minimum pipe insulation thicknesses for commercial systems, requires a protective jacket outdoors (tape does not count) and a vapor retarder on cold lines. Cal/OSHA also requires hot surfaces of 140 degrees or more within seven feet of a work level to be insulated or guarded. Our specs meet both.

Refineries, oilfields and industrial plants in Kern County
Kern County produced about 73 percent of California's onshore oil in 2023, and it is home to refineries, power plants, food processors and some of the largest farms in the country.
